- gaslighting striving and survival into a self-help mantra
"Buy This Shiny Step Plan (just $9,997)"
- because there’s always some charlatan ready to prey on our chaos or ambition
✦ These tools do have their place.
Of course, budgeting matters. Mindset work helps. Investing in support can often be life-changing.
But when they’re packaged as neat little miracle cures, that convince that you are the problem — instead of the world we’re navigating and the life we’re living.
That’s when they stop being helpful and start becoming part of the problem.
✦ The truths left out
They erase, bypass and downplay — the structural barriers, inherited trauma, and systemic realities that quietly shape our lives, relationships and outcomes with money, finances and cash.
They shrink complex realities into individual responsibility (blame and shame)— when really, that's never the full picture. When we take in the full picture we learn so much about ourselves and what is truly possible.
